The Gormenghast Trilogy (of which I have only read the first two books) will surely not appeal to everyone. Anyway, the co-incidence that i referred to at the beginning lay in the fact that I finally started the novel Titus Groan, the first book in the Gormenghast trilogy by Mervyn Peake, a few months ago. I recently picked up a copy of Peake's Titus Groan at a used book sale.
